100% hit point bonus for the War Party ("The Hawks"?)? Who would pick anything else.

Jack

Hitpoints are THAT powerful.

A ship with 10 attack, 6 defense will always kill a ship with 2 attack, 1 defense whether the # hitpoints it has is 20 or 40.

Compare that to having all your planets produce 20% more.

Er I meant to say, hitpoints ARE NOT that powerful.

I was going to say, if any party would be the obvious choice, it would be the Federalists. Getting an economic bonus *and* a production bonus is hard to beat....at least on paper.

I would have thought populus would have a bonus to having more population (ie growing faster, allowing more people on a type of planet).

Why do you only have the bonus when in control of the senate? Even if not in control, your party still controls your empire. Couldn't there be a smaller bonus if you are not in charge? Just thinkin out loud.

Rich,
When I saw the "Populist" party it brought to mind the political environment here in Oregon. This is not something that enhances population growth. The US had a "Populist" party in the late 1890's that had agrarian roots, was basically anti "big business", professed the government control of monopoly concerns (such as utilities), and desired a minimum of interference of government with small businesses.

Based on what I have found in the dictionary and encyclopedic descriptions the affects Brad mentioned sounds correct to me.

Cheers,
Jack
