Saving/Restoring Games

I have read in a couple of posts about people saving games, going back to your autosaved games and playing, ect; My question is, do you recieve penalties if, for example, you play a large/huge/gigantic galaxy and can only play a few hours a night, save, and start playing again the next day, and have probably saved about 5 or 10 times before you finish the game. And do you recieve penalties if you go back to an autosaved game and play it to finish?

Please let me know if I am not asking this question correctly.

Thanks

If you are asking about a scoring penalty, there is none to my knowledge.

However, you should note that loading the game "activates the AI diplomacy routines". You may see declarations of war and peace, trades offered to you (and trades between the AIs), etc.

Cultural computations also take a while to recalibrate to the pre-load levels.

I've seen Frogboy toss around the idea, but as Ray says, there's none currently so far as anyone knows.

I can say that I hope there would never be such a system activated. Not only do I have to take breaks between evenings, I commonly sneak in a few minutes here and there at work ;)

Punishing all the gamers because of what a small percentage of 'no-lifers' abuse is bad game design so hopefully this will remain far away from the game.

Also, given the freqency of CTDs (getting better but still there), etc., punishing people for going to back to autosaves would be a joke.

Shame on you! Of course I am jealous. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, that would be a lousy idea. The game is very approachable for non-strategy-junkies right now, and that change would make it much less so, IMO.
