That patch makes quite a difference

I bit the bullet and downloaded the patch. It is (of course) very cool. And it only took about 15 minutes.
Here's the thing-there is no obvious place to see what the difference is between the storebought game and ver 1.04. There is not even a text file in the download. That honestly surprised me. No instructions, no explanation on why a patch was created, what it improves etc.
C'mon guys. After the manual, you should realize that documentation is not your strong suit and attempt to help out the poor game player.
Just for example, I had to call my friend in California to tell me how to colonize a planet. It's just not obvious or even in the manual.
If I didn't have a 'net connection, I probably wouldn't play the game. It wonderfully complex, but only if you have a freakin clue on what to do.
No info on trade, diplomacy, alliances, ship difference etc etc etc.
If you want to make some cash, make a strategy book under another name and charge for it.
Just don't forget you heard that from me
