Litestep and boxes....

OK...so I've been playing with my own boxes....seeing what they can and cannot do.

Problem is.....Layercuts.dll is 'supposed' to work with boxes....but I can't for the life of me get animations to happen.

Either there's a conflict somewhere or I can't spell 'RTFM'.

Also...I can't destroy a box 'onleftclick'....it seems to need a shortcut set for it instead.

Any theories?...;)

BTW...Layercuts is 1.72 ....LSbox is 2.95

The phrase 'Litestep isn't for newbies' rings true.

8 years and I still get stuck doing things.....

Jafo will be a happy chappie when he's no longer a noob...

Mayhap you should try the LiteStep Mailing List, J-man. I myself tend to stick to plain old tasks and popup2 and that's all, so I have zero experience with LsBox and LayerCuts. You young 'uns and your fancy toys...

Which version of lsbox you trying to use Jafo?

it looks like this version

Phil....2.95.

I have a feeling it might be 'too new'....and the layercuts compatibility is broken....but then so too is the Onrightclick, it seems...

use xlabel, lsbox doesnt support alpha transparency. to get the labels hooked you'll need to use docking.

im looking it up bud il post when i have an answer ..

to get the labels hooked

sryo ..... I'm not interested in 'labels'...I'm talking about Layercuts...

xlabel replaces lsbox and layercuts (with labels that can be hooked), supports alphablended pngs. i dont think there's other way, maybe using lsbox-3.0i or skinbox.

sryo ....the thing I'm trying to do is hook layercuts,[it is supposed to be box compatible] not some other module.

The reason for that is not for alpha blending...it 's for Animation.  That's what Layercuts is...animated shortcuts....

welll dunno about that, but animations work using xlabel havent used layercuts and lsbox in 18 months or so, imo they've been replaced with the far more advanced, usefull, stable and feature-rich xlabel.

sryo ....xlabel .... would that be capable of emulating my Antares II skin/theme animations?

I'm not talking about mouse-over states on buttons, etc...but proper continuous anis, as used in Antares...

Jafo, just for kicks, try swapping in:

lsbox-3.0-pre3

sryo ... yes, looks like xlabel might be able to do much the same.....so I'll have to check it out...

Phil...I'll do that...see what happens...

Ah...fixed that one...stupid me...

can“t help you with the problem as i have not used lsbox since quite a while.

xlabel is very cool and should do what you need.

other option: doing the animations with a calc measure in Rainmeter. (very simple) example: the ticking colon in my Rewind digital clock http://www.customize.org/details/38865

Hi, moshi...

No...I don't think Rainmeter would do it....Antares III has got pretty intricate animations....and I was 'hoping' to get them all hooked to boxes...looks like xlabel is the only option....and it ain't the simplest module...too many darn options...
