Planet Classes

In OS/2 Galciv, the class of the planets greatly influenced the time necessary to achieve an improvement or to finish a ship (higher class planets had an exponential increase in production, etc). I noticed in the beta that a class 18 and a class 26 planet take just as long to finish Soil Enhancement, for example. Will future betas work more like the OS/2 version? Otherwise, there's not much point to trying to colonize the best planets. ;)

Bert,

I think what you are seeing is that the same population with the same morale will produce the same number of shields per turn. Once a planet's population increases it should be more productive. Then again, there is a lot of tuning and balancing that hasen't been done yet, and this might be one of them.

Cheers,
Jack

Yeah, if you settle a class 26 planet with a higher population than what comes in the 1st colony ship, you should see production go up more quickly. That's why you can choose how many colonists to put on colony ships that you build.
