Winning by Military Conquest - Without Invading!

I've just won a Military Conquest on 1.05 in a Gigantic galaxy at Crippling and only conducted 2 invasions all game! All I needed to do was wipe out the majority of the AI fleet, demand a few planets for peace & watch the rest culture flip.
I'm not sure how this can be addressed. You could say that with no fleets the AI can't defend himself & therefore surrenders, but on the other hand I didn't have enough Combat transports to invade many planets with 30Bn+ pop & so wouldn't have been able to take his worlds!
Sometimes Military Conquest is too easy in this game!

Actually your win is more a cultural victory but like most of us who find cultural victory to be too fast and anticlimatical, we switch it off.

I would rather say that cultural conquest is too strong in this game. In my last Crippling Gigantic win, I don't recall firing a single shot nor did I build a single cultural module but the sheer culture from my many planets, TGs/wonders and influence resources allowed me to flip everyone simply by colonising planets among the AI planets.

Yes, seen this aswell... An AI without fleet is too much willing to give planets for peace... I've seen the I-League giving me all but 1 planet for peace... I get these planets with massive population then as highly productive worlds... And the left 1 planet that was taken by the Torians(Bright) culturefliped later aswell...

They also surrender to fast! They Drengin(Genius) could have damaged the economy of their enemies (me and the Torians(Bright)) a bit by letting them invade...

However, their surrendering to the Arceans(Normal) spiced the game a lot up and made things more interesting so I don't want to complain about it.

All examples are taken from my latest victorious all-on-random-game...
