That's devastating firepower... Actually pretty amazing..
I wonder if the Terminator would have chosen it?..LoL
The list of features is incredible...

# Fires .308 caliber and .50 caliber metal projectiles accurately at up to 8,000 fps (feet-per-second)
# Features an infinitely variable/programmable cyclic rate-of-fire (as high as 120,000 rounds-per-minute)
# Electrically powered and virtually silent
# Capable of laying down a 360-degree field of fire
# Mountable on any military vehicles, includes humvees and helicopters
# Weighs only 28 pounds
# Magazine capacities of at least 50,000 rounds of .308 Cal., or 10,000 rounds of .50 Cal. ammo

The Military just gets to play with all the coolest toys! Sheeeesh!

Dont get me wrong, I am not "For War" at all..but if we have to fight one it's nice to have the best we can have going in...

It's a shame we don't spend as much time and money learning to just get along and solve world issues in a more peaceful way instead of creating more weapons to destroy one another. Imagine!

::sighs and nods:: It's an awesome thought WG, unfortunatley that sentiment has to be realized an accepted by everyone for it to ever work, all the leaders of the world, and it just isnt..Always some "Boris Badenuff" out there striving for world domination..

Ah well...

I have to agree with you on this one. That would be something. We have already proven we can build many weapans of destructuion. It is no surprise that bigger, more powerfull weapons can be made. But to get along in Peace would really be an accomplishment.

That's true Zero, but every creation in life started with just one thought.

True enough Cindy, the major problem with that logic is, that very same thought is more than 60 years old and has barely been taken seriously by the powers that be...

That thought caused a helluva lot of unwarranted animosity towards our troops that went to Viet Nam..
People did not agree with War or the fact that we should be over there, but the troops arent the ones that should have taken the blame, or any of the ridicule and attacks they suffered for simply doing the job they were ordered to do..They really had no choice, refusal could have gotten them shot on the spot, but usually landed them in prison..::sighs::

The funny thing is, the protesters of the war, and the "Peace" activists used major brutality to try to enforce their own beliefs..
Hipocracy at it's finest...

Just an example of people trying to make something happen that would be really awesome, it just is not realistic, especially in todays world.

Like I said, I am not at all pro war, and dont even get me started on what I think of Bush and his personal "Agenda's"..
World Peace, would just be fantastic and I for one am all for it 110%.. But realistically, it's never going to happen..
There are just to many "Time Bombs" out there waiting to blow..

If only? If firearms were only ever used to act purely in self defence, an angered shot would never be fired.
Sadly, most shots are fired in aggression, to inflict rather than defend.

I hate guns

If firearms were only ever used to act purely in self defence,

In a world of peace why would "Self Defense" be necessary? or at least necessary with a firearm? Couldnt the act of self defense be considered a personal "war"? Where does it start or stop?
One act of self defense angers the "Defend-ees" entire family and then they come after you, what do you do?, you get your family to help defend..whats the result? ..::sighs:: it's a never ending loop.

Personally I use them for hunting, target shooting, strictly recreational... I have the option to use them for self defense when im at home and if I have a need, hopefully that wont ever be an issue..

:oints at the "Dread Weapon System" I am thinking no one is going to use that thing for "Hunting" and that is probably best! LoL

First of all I support our Troops. And you may think this is a contradiction, but I support why they are over there as well. I have seen too many Iraqi citizens that are grateful to have Sadman Insane out of their lives. They have been able to vote for their own leaders. All I am saying is that it just takes one person to start a change. It may not happen in our lifetime, but it will happen. I am against violence, but when there is no other road to take, one must support it in order to have a unified front. I will not get into politics or any other arguments of that sort. Whether or not we will ever see peace in our time or not, does not take away the fact that peace would be more of a major accomplishment than building a bigger and stronger killing machine, which was the point of my first statement. Should we as humans give up on our ideals because of the opposition or years it takes to unfold. I think not. That is the easy and lazy road. Nothing worth having is ever easy, nor does it come over night. And if we give up hope or give in to the other side, it will never come.

Sadman Insane

LMAO!!..Never heard that nickname before..good one...

As for the rest, Great outlook and well said...
Keep the dream alive..

When another "Sadman" rises during the struggle to make the dream come true..Perhaps this "Dread Weapon System" will help solve that issue even more expediently, so more time can be focused upon the dream..

I cannot say that I agree that it is possible, I can admit it sure would be nice..

Take care Cindy...

The one thought we "all" need to get away from...is that it is up to the powers that be...damn the powers that be...they are the problem...not the solution...the solution lies in us. Remember "We the people"? The power of the people is a powerful force. If only people could remember that we could change the world.

If it were not for us allowing these things to happen...war ...poverty ...greed ...by our silence... apathy... ignorance... or whatever fits your reasoning... this world would and can be a far better world than we have now. It all starts with one person taking a stand and sticking to it...and standing up for what you believe in...and not settling for less than that.
WG..I'm not at all trying to argue with you..curious as to how you believe we should go about it..
Until that happens, or while say you yourself are making that stand..
What should the rest of us do while your changing the world for the better?

I mean sure I agree and am willing to stand beside you..but should we simply lay down our weapons and dissolve our defenses?

If we do that, I can guarantee that none of us would be left alive to make that change...

Thats why I cannot believe its possible...

Weapons must still be developed, defenses maintained..if only to remain as strong as the next enemy that would choose to strike...

Some progress has been made in a few countries, but then others have risen to make that progress seem non-existant...

So, how exactly would you begin?

28 pounds before adding the ammo? Not very portable

Very true..but at 120,000 rounds per minute I'm thinking your going to want to mount it on something that can carry ALOT of Ammo!! Sheeeeesh!

And congrats on your new title!

Thanks!, I was actually heading off to bed last night after my last reply to you, but as you can see...just couldnt shut myself up..LoL

I think I already said that.

Clwoods...close but not quite. Your point?

DoubleZero...I Never argue...God knows I try...I just share thoughts and opinions.

What should the rest of us do while your changing the world for the better?

Keep'em busy so they don't notice what I'm doing.

No seriously...I'm only one person DZ...and I never did enough drugs in the sixties to think I'm going to change anything alone. But I have always stood my ground. When I see something that I don't feel we should be doing or something that is obviously wrong ...like looking for imaginary weapons of mass destruction...I write my representatives and tell them how I feel about it. I get involved in anything I can that will let our representatives know that at least some of us are watching and that whatever they are doing or trying to do is not going un-noticed. And if I can put a damper on what they are doing by drawing attention to them I do my best to do so. When I think they are doing something that is a bunch of bulls..t, I write to the newspapers as well as them.

So you asked what you can do? Just get involved...take a stand and do whatever "you" can to make a difference. It certainly won't happen over night, and maybe not even in our lifetime. But when the time comes for me to take the big dirt nap...I know I at least tried.

but should we simply lay down our weapons and dissolve our defenses?

Not at all...this government has made far to many enemies for us to do that. We need to mend a lot of fences and rebuild a lot of bridges before we could ever consider something like that.

If we do that, I can guarantee that none of us would be left alive to make that change...

No argument there...we would be toast at the first sign of doing that because of all the enemies this government has been so kind to make for us...and that could still happen regardless...a show of force does not guarantee you safety...its a nice deterrent...but thats all...

Thats why I cannot believe its possible...

And they would love for you to continue thinking that way...and they will always use fear to keep you thinking that...the average person in this country is easily manipulated by fear...I'd love to see you disappoint them...if people in this country thought for themselves instead of blindly believing the clowns running this country I seriously doubt we would be in Iraq. Mark my words...nothing will change in Iraq! For that to happen we need to go to several other countries in the middle east and do the same thing we are pointlessly attempting to do in Iraq. Only one problem...every year our armed forces is getting smaller and smaller because less and less people are willing to die for for a pointless cause...it's gotten to the point that they have to trick kids into joining...but hey...we got bigger weapons and we are really good at re-arranging dirt.

Weapons must still be developed, defenses maintained..if only to remain as strong as the next enemy that would choose to strike...

Honestly DZ...you can develop all the weapons you want and continue to maintain our defenses...But if someone seriously wanted to cause major damage to this country it really wouldn't be all that hard to do and could be done without firing a shot...And of course our government officials would be safely tucked away in some bunker somewhere while you were left to fend for yourself...buy lots of duct tape and plastic sheeting...

Some progress has been made in a few countries, but then others have risen to make that progress seem nonexistent ...

Lies are told...deals are made...we are no closer to peace than before...as long as the rich politicians are in power we will never make any "real" progress towards peace...only superficial progress for a superficial peace.

Any time a politician see's a way to make money from war by bombing someone else you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be there to fight them nasty terrorists...conspirators...or whatever lable they choose to give them at the time...fear is a powerful tool...and this government uses it well...and your kids pay the price...with their lives.

Saddam Hussein was nothing more than the equivalent of your neighborhood bully
on a grander scale. They say he had weapons of mass destruction...that was a bunch of bull...he no doubt had chemical weapons because Bushes daddy sold them to him...and that's not my opinion...that's a fact...

So...if we we're really concerned about WMD's or how a ruler treats his people...one country comes to mind....North Korea...Hello! Over here! We have WMD's!...And our people cook tree bark, dirt and rocks for soup to survive...and there are many other countries that treat their people just as bad...but do you think we will ever go there?...not unless our so-called concerned humanitarian country has something to gain by it.

So, how exactly would you begin?

I began a long time ago when I was just a kid...speaking out...writing letters...generally being the biggest pain in the ass I can towards government officials...and have been doing it ever since. I can pretty much guarantee you I've been on government watch lists for a long time. It's a price you pay for speaking out...and it comes with the territory...and it's not for everyone...but freedom is not free...and peace does not come without a price

But this is all just "MY" opinion and what "I" do to try and make a difference.

"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue till they have resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they suppress."
~ Frederick Douglas ~

"You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence."
~ Charles A. Beard ~

"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."
