My Icons have an ugly block of colour around the text

How do I get my icons to have a that nice look where the text under my desktop icons blend in with background (like apple mac). Nothing seems to work

You can also check "use drop shadows under icons". Go to control panel then performance and maintanance then adjust visual effects.

A free prog called Iconoid (no link) also does this if active desktop is disabled.

Right click on desktop, arrange icons by, uncheck lock web items on desktop.

I had the same problem i installed iconx and it fixed the problem.

found that in XP you can lock the icons right click on desktop and leftclick on arrange and untick lock web items .....

all fix now - thanks for the suggestions
