Autohide+Attention effect

If I enable both autohide and the attention effect (bounce), I never see the attention. Is it possible to make the bouncing icon appear on the screen even if autohide is enabled?

I'm having the same problem as bembleton. I would like the icon to appear on the screen with the attention effect. Any ideas how to do this? It would be really great for messenger.

I would not recommend using sutohide on the systray. In fact I recommend having the systray on it own "standard" dock without using any animations. You'll take a performance hit if you put systray on a dock with anything else especially a docklet.

If you have a program like messenger that has it's own attention effect you probably won't have problems with it as long as you don't use huge icons.

For dock objects on a taskbar dock you should see the attention effects before it autohides. However, it will not unhide/show just to displat an attention effect.

This is how I have my docks set up: http://img260.imageshack.us/my.php?image=desktop0wk1.jpg

I have a Dock at the bottom with the "Show dock as a drawer" option turned on.
There's a tab "Tray" with the systray icons.

There's also a autohide dock on the left edge, with the "Show running tasks on the dock" option on. I use it to quickly change between running programs (like using ALT+TAB)

The problem is that when messenger is running it won't show the "attention effect" when I get a message, because of the "autohide" option.

Is there any way to make it show, keeping the current setup?
How are you guys running messenger with objectdock?
Thanks for the help
