I don't know how they work on galactic civilizations but I know that they are a point where all units from a certain production facility go after they are constructed. If you have any question e-mail me at [email protected]

To use the rally points...

(a) From the main screen click on the rally point symbol and then click on a point on the screen. A rally point is now created.

(b) From the planet screens you can now set a rally point destination for all new ships
and

(c) You can double click on a rally point to mopdify it.

Rally points - great idea - needs tweeking.

1) There are unused buttons on the ship info screen. Rally points should also be set here. (see 5.)

2) Rally points need to show on the mini-map. maybe a pulsating dot.

3) I tried and dont care to set my rally points on the planet view screen. It auto-launched my defenders.

4) On the sector map, besides the new 'set rally point button', a find next rally point button should be added. (see 6)

5) All of my starbases have +2 speed improvement. I also build minor speed bases in some sectors. This give me groupings of connected sectors with +2 speed. Using rally points to send ships from the far end of the galaxy to battle using these grouping cuts months off their travel time. For this to work, see point 1.

6) nbr 4 is important as this will allow me to review my ships being assembled at each rally/invasion point. On small maps this isnt necessary, but on Gigantic, it really helps. I have 3 rally points planned for my invasion of the Dregins. It takes my Dreadnought about 8 months to travel between points. It may take 36 months to assemble 3 battle groups of dreadnought and transports. (my fleets typically contains 1 dreadnought and 3 transports)

I've been playing Gal civ for almost a year. my wife cant understand why I play it everyday. The improvements are :HOT: and keeps the game LOL . To the guys at Stardock, :CONGRAT:

I've been officially moved to Political Machine, so I don't know about some of the issues you brought up, but I'll touch on the ones that I can...

2.) I agree...though I don't know how hard it'd be to get things animating in that window.

4.) { and } will cycle backwords and forwards through your set rally points (respectivly).

Hopefully Cari can chat about what can be done in terms of the other issues  ;)

I believe rally points were suppossed to be in the initial v1.0 launch, so they were probably on the design plan from the start.
