Re: Rainlendar download

Greetings,
I have downloaded a Rainlendar I would like to use but don't know where to install it. Can anybody help me?
I am using Windowblinds but don't know if I need anything else.
Thank you for your time.

First, unzip the rainlendar zip file into a folder of your choice. Next, copy the unzipped rainlendar folder to the rainlendar skins folder (usually C:\Program Files\Rainlendar\Skins, if you accepted all the defaults when installing rainlendar). Then, start rainlendar up (or if it is running, refresh it). The skin you just downloaded should appear as one of the skins under the "Skins" heading. Then simply select that skin and it should appear. Hope this helps!

I dont see a ini file anywhere. I have a subfolder in there but there are files in the SKINS folder and in the subfolder. The help for Rainlendar siad I nneded to move the .ini files somewhere into a second sub folder. WhaT DO THEY MEAN?

After you unzip the rainlendar zip file, the unzipped folder should contain an .ini file (along with all the necessary images, i.e., window backgrounds, etc... that are usually in .png format). Copy the unzipped folder that has the .ini file to the "C:\Program Files\Rainlendar\Skins" directory (or wherever you installed rainlendar). Once the .ini file is in that directory, it should be available to rainlendar and should be a selectable skin. I hope this helps.

The first thing you need to do is download and install the Rainlender program Link.

Then you will have a place to move your skin to. Just having WindowBklinds installed is not enough. I didn't see it mention here that you had done that, so I thought I would mention it.

Good point WebGizmos... rainlendar is a standalone calendar application that is not a part of windowblinds. Once you install the rainlendar program, you should be able to install rainlendar skins as noted above.

Hi, I am a bit late on this one but I have done as suggested regarding where to put railendar and skins for it but I am not having any luck with installing the skin I wanted.

Any suggestions?

Do you have the program working? Was the default skin applied on start up?

After you install the skin into the Rainlendar directory, try closing Rainlendar then re-opening it...the skin should up in the skins list. Which skin are you having trouble with?

A default skin was applied but don't know what it is called. In the c:\programfiles\railendar\skins appear the following folders -
Shadow 3.1 and Tranquil.

Just to clear things up I am meant to put the zipped folder into the skins folder correct?

(The skin by the way is Kendo scrolls)

Then once I have done this how do I actually install it?

Yes, but unzip the file first. Inside that will be the skin file. Remove that folder and put that in the rainlender skins folder. if the skin file is in a sub folder of the zipped file then move that. You should see some of th images on the folder icon itself.
After that, close rainlender and then restart. After restarting, right click on the rainlender skin you see and you should see your new skin listed.

Maybe a visual of what NT, Alphabyte, Ama, and Webgizmos are saying will help.

Download and open the file to this stage only

Then open My computer > Local disk C > Program files > Rainlendar. It will look like

Open the "skins" folder. Drag and drop the new folder onto the Rainlendar "skins" page

Close Rainlendar. Open it again. Right click, select your skin.
