I'm boring myself,
the last twenty or thirty lines of shit have been
well, just that--shit,
I can't think of a thing profound or worthy of
paper or effort, again constipated, more shit, or
is it the need to shit,
I don't know, but
it seems unworthy of the subject for me to lay
a line or two to it's defense or accusation, the
lines soil the sentiments of the now of it, it's
immediacy,
if it's a thousand dying children in some African
country or a hundred thousand buried in the
sands of unseen floods I have no garnishments to add
to the flavor or look of it,
I don't even want to think about it, all the shit,
it hurts and cause the capillaries in my eyes to
shut down and leave my whites red and my forehead
sweaty,
I have a fraction of a fraction of an even smaller
number of cash pieces to throw at problems greater than
myself, there is none left, yet, billion dollar corporations
demand an accounting and a contribution to foundations
created to clean up the conscience of the well-to-do,
no, I don't want to think about it, this is what happens
when the wick is shorter than the candle,
