Why won't DX3 Builder Load at Startup?

I have the "Make DesktopX Builder the default" checkbox selected, but it doesn't seem to do anything

So... this is a rather aggravating issue. I have a DX3 Pro license and would prefer to run DX3 in builder mode at all times on this machine, but no matter what I do, the thing just won't startup in builder mode. Now... I have it running on another machine, and it starts up in builder just fine by selecting the "Make DesktopX Builder the default" from settings/prefs.

Is there a startup file or registry somewhere that is potentially busted and perpetually pointing to DX standard mode at startup?

Anyone have any thoughts?

It should work if you have the Make DesktopX Builder default" "Run automaticly when windows starts" You can try just putting a shortcut in the startup folder if that dose not work.

Mormequil,

Thanks for the reply. Tried all of that, of course. Unfortunately, when you put a shortcut to builder in the startup folder, it keeps coming at you with "Desktop X is already running... yadda yadda yadda", which is just further aggravation.

I'd prefer the thing to work like it's supposed to. No one else has had this problem?

Just a thought - am at work so I can't try it - not sure if one 'check' will remove the other - so... - switch to regular mode and see if maybe run at startup is checked there, if so remove it and then check it on builder.

just a thought based on the: "Desktop X is already running... yadda yadda yadda"

the same theory might apply if you have DTX in the startup folder.

I have a similar problem which only started on Thursday when SDcentral updated itself to Build 90. Upon re-boot,
1) Component tray would not load automatically, even though the box was ticked.
2) DesktopX Builder have to be started manually and I seem to have DesktopX and the Pro version showing under OD Applications.
3) Smart Startup does not run.

This morning's 0800 BST Build 91 has not rectified the problem. I shall be grateful for any ideas.

We are now up to Build 93 with still the same problems. I even rolled back to a configuration that I knew worked using Norton Ghost and everything was fine until entering SDCentral. Is there any way to prevent it from updating itself?

I just click 'no'.

Sorry, brain not in gear at the time. I was seeking a way of stopping it looking for updates before facing the the dichotomy of "Yes" or "No". I think I have now found it under Tools/Settings.
