Accidental attack bug

My USS hero, on a autopilot route to an anomaly, attacked a enemy ship of the same class. I won that "fight". I dont like when they attack of themselves.. :)

Altho, when checking relations - I wasnt at war!!!

You weren't at war with them either before or after? That's VERY odd...

But isn't a ship supposed to drop out of autopilot when its sensors sees an enemy ship or planet? I thought this was already working this way midway into the Alpha.

Cheers,
Jack

If your ship is an attack ship, and you're at war with the other civ, it'll drop out of auto-pilot and attack the other ship, which is how it's been. But if Fredrik's ship managed to attack a non-hostile ship while his was on auto-pilot, and that didn't start a war, it's very disturbing...

My mistake.

No I wasnt at war at the time. And I had it centered on the screen as I was wondering what should happen. I saw that an enemy ship placed itself on the anomaly or if it was one tile away, I dont remember. Anyway when my ship moved due to pressing the turn button it attacked.

I've noticed before that if another race reaches an anomoly before you your autopilot does not change. In Jack's case it moved him onto the tile which was already occupied and a battle occurred. Would it be possible to cancel autopilots whose destination has disappeared or changed(survey ships and colony ships) bringing up an event message of 'new destination required'?

It would be possible, but I don't know how complicated it would be to code. Besides, the ship still shouldn't haven't attacked it if it wasn't targeted or an enemy ship.
