Alice Movie Gets Star

Why is a five year old game making news you ask? Simple, American McGee's take on the children's tale Alice in Wonderland has finally nabbed a leading lady for its film adaptation. Variety and the Hollywood Reporter have discovered that Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on to star in the film version of Alice. The movie adaptation is almost as old as the game itself, stretching back to 2000 with rumors of a Wes Craven directed film, but finally the details have become more concrete.

Along with Sarah Michelle Gellar, German director Marcus Nispel of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake has been signed and the movie is being bankrolled by Universal Pictures.

The twisted tale has Alice return to Wonderland after a fire kills her parents, only Wonderland has gone through some changes of its own...
