Adding packages from the library, what must be done to activate them?

I just downloaded the "dreadnaught" package from the library and folowed the instructions for installing the package. Now, what do I have to do to get it to work? Do I have to start a new game? Something else?

Just follow the instructions.

The game will pick them up automatically once you copy the two files into the proper directories.

Is a saved game supposed to pick them up? If so, it didn't. And I fillowed the instructions and copied the files where it said to.

Never mind. I found it, at the bottom of the list where I should have looked for it. I missled myself into thinking it should be further up in the list.
