Sega Announce Rome: Total War Sequel

Sega of America announced this holiday
weekend that they will be publishing the expansion for The Creative Assembly's
award winning RTS, Rome: Total War. The now Sega owned developer plans to
unleash the hordes on Europe and North America in September 2005 with Rome:
Total War – Barbarian Invasion.
The invasion commences just after the last Emperor of the Roman Empire has died. His death causes a power struggle between the late Emperor's successor in Rome and Constantinople, creating a fight for power between the cities as the horde amasses theirs.
"Barbarian Invasion will contain a multitude of new features comprising of enough content to fulfill a full PC title release," said Tim Ansell, Managing Director, The Creative Assembly. - Newly designed campaign map. The map reflects 200 years of change and turmoil. Conquer new lands and new region boundaries.
- Updated gameplay. Featuring the Hordes, Character Loyalty, and Roman Civil wars.
- 10 new playable factions.
- Also adding to the depth, there is an expanded barbarian tech tree, 85 new units, 21 new buildings, ancillary characters, vices and virtues, military commands, holy relics and much more!
- Night battles. Hugely atmospheric battles and combat effects with added tactical challenges.
- Improved battle AI and tactics. Individual faction fighting styles, swimming units across rivers and various additional new tactics.
