Trying to load the multimedia files on a dial-up line

It should take about 5 hours -- and I started the process confident that, just like with the GalCic code itself, if a download stopped midway through, the DGM would pick up where it left off, not re-downloading the files it had already had.

Well, it doesn't. I'm now on my fourth attempt to download the multimedia files.

Why does the DGM fail to recognize the already downloaded files just when it most needs to?

I'll bring this to the attention of the people who work on the dgm...

Hi Frank,

There should be no reason as to why the DGM is not picking up the download where it left off. But if you will run drengin.exe with the /d paramater (for debugging) and then send me the debug.err file after a retry I will look into it and see if I can find out where the problem may be.

I found that it occurs mainly with the mp3 files. I too have a dial up account, and found the same thing happening. DGM does detect in most cases, but for some reason, not the mp3s. I'm not game to uninstall for a lil while.. took me a week to get it loaded back on :notsure:

I've sent my debug.err file about a week ago -- any chance the new drenging manager (that fixes the smartexception problem) will fix this too?
