Love is worth dying for

Note: Sort of a rambling monologue. Life is like that sometimes.

Love is worth fighting for.
It’s worth dying for. Just look
at those boys standing ready
fighting for love of whatever.

You hide out and look for the
moment of least resistance
you try to push your agendas forward
and forget about love.

But it waits oh so patiently
for a while, at least,
and then decides to be fickle,
and make you work for it.

So you ramble on and

You fight your daily wars,
each day is sort of a personal battle
against time, and all those
individuals vying for the same
girl.

In your heart, you know she’s human,
but she’s as close to perfect as you can
imagine it, and she makes you sing
just makes you make beautiful song.

It catches you like a petty thief in the
night and enthralls you. You can't do
anything but stare and be amazed.
It's like nothing else you'll ever feel.

But me and I get in the way of love,
this beautiful creation. It takes time
and effort, and all the hope you can
muster. It takes power.

I guess we lost some of that power
a long time ago.
When people live for lust instead
of love,
the world rots at its core.

It seems that
the world has
been rotting
for quite some
time now.

One of my poems is somewhat like this....at least it has something of the sort in it....I can't remember which one though.

I like this one...not only does it restate my beliefs and views it sounds good too.

Great job, Al

Love shouldn't be a contest, until the best man wins. Because, if it is a race, usually it is not the best man who wins, it is the most aggressive or the loudest or the most popular. Love should be about letting your heart run the race, and the girl sees the true champion and picks the right boy. But unfortunatey, life doesn't follow any rules, and puts up detours and roadblocks along the race path. But hopefully, when the but important decision has to be made, the girl sees the true heart of all the boys and picks the right one.
