The Godfather The Game may not use the original voice of Don Vito Corleone after all. Electronic Arts managed to have a recording session with Marlon Brando, the actor behind Corleone, but the New York Times reports that the audio captured is not game-audio quality. Reporter Seth Schiessel says that Brando was in such bad health during the recordings that he had to breath with the aid of an oxygen tank, the background noise making the recordings unusable. Instead Schiessel claims that EA will use a professional voice mimic to finish the project.
Gamespot received some clarification from EA stating that they "recorded multiple sessions with a sound-alike to capture the entire performance of the Don Vito character, something we were not able to do with Mr. Brando." Fear not there is a chance that gamers will hear the actor's authentic voice, "It's still to be determined how the development team will choose to use what was recorded with Mr. Brando." Source:
