Getting bored with the Hot Coffee mod story? Well so are we but here is another piece to the on-going saga. Australia's version of the ESRB, the Office of Film and Literature Classification has decided to launch its own investigation into the mod. The OFLC, much like the ESRB, wants to see if the code for the mini games was in the game they received but not disclosed. In Australia it is required by law to provide the ratings group "with access to all content within the game as well as particulars of contentious material and the means to gain access to such material." The ESRB simply acts on whats best for the game industry, meaning there would be no law broken for Take Two in the United States should they be found guilty.
If the game is found with the explicit material then the OFLC could pull its rating altogether, making sale of the GTA: San Andreas illegal in Australia. The ESRB on the other hand would most likely change the rating to Adults Only, causing most retailers to stop selling the title since they are shy of carrying software with that rating.
