Famed Developer Leaves Midway

John Romero has announced via his website that he has indeed left Midway and has been gone for about three weeks. Romero, best known for his efforts in id Software with Doom, Doom II and Quake, had taken the roll of Project Lead for Midway's resurrection of the Gauntlet series back in 2003. Romero went on to say that Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows will not be affected by his decision to leave. Romero hasn't announced his next project but said "I'm currently looking at lots of exciting developments right now and it'll be a couple months before I can announce my next destination."

Oh yeah...I thought he was still involved in making cell phone games or something. John's movements don't quite garner the attention they used to.
