Odd things

I just managed to play a tiny galaxy to completion (beyond human). Here's some idiosyncracies that I noted:

1. The Drengin Empire ended up with 150 million odd tech points for some reason and when I defeated them, both their planets kept producing any class of ship in just one turn. They were the only bad guys in the game.

2. The tech list would freeze at whatever position it ended up in after new tech was developed. This eventually rectified itself when all available remaining techs were displayable without scrolling.

3. It would be nice if drones on "guard" status would wake up and report any sightings of debris or anomalies.

4. The improvement list for the governor is still not scrolling.

5. There were a number of oddnesses where one ship would end up on top of another of a different (and unallied race) where it shouldn't be able to go.

6. Alliances still don't seem to be available really. Never saw them in the treaty list.

1. Do you mean the resources, that you view on the planet data screen?

2. I think that I know what is causing this, although I haven't seen it yet.

4. It's on my list.

5.If you trade for ships that are in stacks, they could end up like that, or little freighters ignore other ships, so they can move on other ships.

6. They're not really fully implemented.

as far as 6. goes, I think that it is leaning more to where you launch a ship from orbit, and it appears directly over a ship from another race.. I've seen this happen a couple of times now, not often as it is reliant mainly on there being another ship in the "6 oclock" position in relation to the system

1. No it's the stats screen at the end of the game.

But the weirdness was accompanied by the one-month build syndrome. It was actually quite easy to conquer these systems and they were GREAT to own, but it was sort of cheating...

Another oddness that's probably already been mentioned:

The saved games don't retain trade routes gained through conference votes (though they reappear without needing to be re-freightered when new votes are taken).

And once the game has been saved and restored, trying to establish a UP approved trade route the way I do it results in a crash to the desktop. I have desparately been trying to get SE to work so I can gather an exception report to no avail. I have a saved game and will send it to Cari.

When I want to send a ship to a star I always set it to a tile next to that star. When trying to establish a UP approved trade route, once the freighter arrives at its destination I then move the freighter manually to the star and the game crashes.

Cheers,
Jack

And here are some more odd things:

7. A conquered star system cannot be colonized even though it has a planet that would make a good colony.

8. Ship piles seem to build up in various places. I find I can pull my own off the top, but it's clear it's not just trading, since cultures that are at war (and hardly likely to be trading ships) are involved.
