CNN/Money has received word that Electronic Arts has delayed the launch of The Godfather, which is based on the book and movie of the same name, until the first quarter of 2006. The game was originally slated for a 2005 holiday release but has been pushed back because the "open world" element that allowed characters to move freely was not "quite ready." The title recently made the news when it was reported that Marlon Brando's voice may not be used in the game. Current generation and PC versions of The Godfather should hit the shelves by March 31st, 2006 with next generation versions to follow.
