Oxidized DX Launchbar

Hello,

I bought the Oxidized suite the other day and I cannot seem to get the CNN Headlines function to work on the Oxidized DX Launchbar object that came with the suite. The pop out screen comes and all it shows is "CNN News Stories 1-5 of 0". It doesnt show any headlines. Any suggestions?

Chad,

No, it is not the wrong forum.

It is probably just a case of no one who has read it the post having any good advice.

You might try going to Mormegil's site Link, and e-mail him about the issue. He is the author of that suite, and may have an idea.

The only thing I can offer is trying to connect to CNN with your browser, then try the LaunchBar link to see if it is an internet access issue, or whether it has something to do with the information request not being completed for some reason (perhaps the link has changed?).

I hope this helps in some way.

Thx for the reply. I emailed him Wed., but no reply as of yet. I was wondering if someone reading this that has a copy of Oxidized could load it up and tell me if their CNN Headlines work?

Chad,

I just loaded up a fresh download of the Oxidized Launch bar (from the widget pack), and the CNN button opens the headline box and displays 1-5 of 6 headlines.

The mouse-over text indicates that the user can double-click the headline to read more, but double-clicking only closed the headline box.

All other parts of the Launch bar worked correctly.

Note - I loaded it by double-clicking the widget.

It sounds like your widget is not gaining access to the internet to me, perhaps if you clean the cache as follows:

- Open "My Computer", and then go to "Tools > Folder Options > View tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders" > click "Apply"
- Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX" folder (where "C" is the letter drive), and delete any widget folders found inside.
- Double-click the Oxidized Launch bar widget to load again and see if it works.

I hope this helps in some way.
