Page Colour in Word

Hi all,

Does anyone know what to tweak in a WindowBlinds theme so that I can ensure the actual page colour of a Word document is white on screen? It seems to be something to do with text fields, but I can't see how to change it.

Many thanks!

I saw instruction for along the similar lines (another program) but I can't find it - have you tried in the exclusions in the per application in configure?

You will need SkinStudio, download from software tab if you do not have it. Open skin in SkinStudio, on left Explorer tree, Miscellaneous, Colors, on right Section tab, click to open Window, Background - Window set color to what you want. This should be the one, if not it will be Background - MDI Window. You will have to do this for every skin you want to change.

Hey Cavan 1...
just looked in WB configure... what about the Basic Settings... Backgrounds (on the right)... check the override?
Would that do it?

Hey Bichur no it does not, it seems to want to as when open WordPerfect I did see a flash of the default background, but then the color set in SkinStudio takes over. The override does work for dialogs such as move and copy.
I was just playing with neOSB, it has bitmap for Window Background Explorer, but still only changing value in Colors will change window color.

Should not make a difference but should add that I am running WB 4.59 beta.

Hmmm. I couldn't find anything in the exclusions as Sir Bichur mentioned, and Cavan1's suggestions didn't work either. Any other suggestions, or tips for where I might be going wrong?

Sventekoz, did you reapply the skin after saving changes in SkinStudio, for me Background-Window changes color of page for WordPerfect. It will be either it or Background-MDI.

Yes I did - although I may not have saved the changes correctly. I just noticed that the "new" skin has wound up with the old settings still in place. Sorry about that - I should have checked first!

When you get it changed, you may need to change text color, it is Text-Normal right between the Window settings.

The color to change (you'll have to do this with each skin) is "Background - MDI Window" in the Classic Colors section.

If you don't have (or don't want to use) SkinStudio, you can open the skinname.uis file in Notepad (skinname= the name of the folder of the skin you wish to change). Scroll down to a section with the header [Colours]. The entry you want is AppWorkSpace=. Change the RGB values there, save the file and reload the skin. There is also an entry for Window= & I usually set that to the same values, but it's the AppWorkSpace value that sets the page color in Word (at least up through Word2000 - later versions of Word might use a different source color, can't swear for sure).

Cheers,
Daiwa
