Bootskins images, can they be made clearer?

Making clearer bootskin images

What I would like to know is, is there a way or a program that can make bootskin images clearer?

I have seen some bootskins that seem to be clearer than others. I have contacted some of the creators of some of the clear bootskins, but I have not received a response yet.

So, if there is any one out there in the world of skin that knows of some technique or program that is able to make bootskins clearer, please contact me here or by e-mail at: [email protected]

Thank you

There is no real 'trick' to doing it. Some images simply start with a more limited color pallette than others, and therefor when they are reduced to 4bit color, they still look clear. There is some control over the color pallette that is used in the image, but really, it depends on the image and editor.

Thanks a lot Moderator, I agree with you, I have tried a lot of editors like, ACDSee7, PaintShop Pro9, IrfanView, SkinStudio, Macromedia FireWorksMX, and Corel Draw 12 Photo Paint, the best one hands down was ACDSee7, then the PaintShop Pro 9 was pretty good as well, SkinStudio had a lot of options after reducing colors to 16 X 4 bit, but it did not do a better job than ACDSee7 or Paint Shop Pro9, they where the best.

Peace

Hey! Bash2cool how’s it going? You might not remember me, I wrote you an e-mail a while ago about boot skin color conversion, and you recommended ACDSee7. IT WORKS GREAT!

Thanks!
