How do you go about making a transparent Start menu with SkinStudio like The Sphynx did? I would like to experiment with transparencies with my theme.

Make your images (.png or .tga) with transparency before importing them into skinstudio. For each image you have transparency...select normal Per pixel alpha under the right tree Start panel effects settings. Check off transparent and translucency in the typical location.

What about transparencies in windows like explorer? I would like an Aero type of style.

the window part is what is planned for wb 5

or you can use this small app - called Vista Explorer Link.

or, if you have windowFX, you can download a Glass Border shadow for it - here it is on my computer:

(only thing with windowFX is it will put the glass border around EVERYTHING because it is a modified shadow - including menu's)
