rotation

Yep, some of them. The word I heard was that they will all be rotating once the graphics crew gets it all done.

To be honest, I saw one rotating, but by and large it is not what I am focusing on. They could have been left static as it adds little to the game. I know they worked hard on them but I jsut don't see the reward from the work.

IMO it adds value.

Eye candy is always nice. Best as I can tell the planets that currently rotate are class 14-20 (based on the planetxx.blk files I see in my gfx directory).

Class 26 does as well. When you render a planet in 3D, you basically can animate it for free so it's not very time consuming and adds some visual flair.

Mark my words, even with all the eye candy, you're going to have some reviewer ripping on the graphics because we didn't make the game 3D with full rotation of the map and other nonsense that does nothing to gameplay.

i am less worried about the lack of rotation than the failure of the DGM to upgrade my graphics code properly for the new beta. It failed to deliver my zoom functionality until I uninstalled/reinstalled. I was just wondering if this had failed to patch up as well. I will check out 14 to 20 and 26 but am sure none of mine do. Thanks guys
