State of the Art

You guys haven't heard from me in a while since I've been building my computer. Overall it took only an afternoon or two and was quite fun. Learned a whole lot too. And I got it running (somehow) without frying half my components (which is a good thing for those keeping score). In the end it only ran me about $1400 or so and now I can play all my games smoothly instead of just the ones made before the Industrial Revolution. Here's my top 10 comments on having a new computer:
1) Since buying a computer I have gotten 4-7 new games. Go figure.
2) Windows runs alot better when you meet the minimum requirements.
3) Music is... musical. I never used to listen to music untill I got a 5.1 set up and an Audigy 2. Now I have music on all the time.
4) Speaking of music, I heart iTunes. I don't know why but it's just so sleek and easy. I can't really stay mad at it for long... (maybe those crazy StarDock people should make an audio listener programmy thing-a-ma-bob...)
5) The internet is so cool. Having a really good computer with no wireless network (yet) means no multiplayer, instant messenging, email, or downloading stuff. =(
6) New computer = total bragging rights. Gotta love those ATI demos...
7) Spiffy red LED fans and a window... nuff said.
8) I've beaten Call of Duty and Knights of the Old Republic already. If you don't have them run out, grab a copy, throw money at the people, speed home, and enjoy.
9) XP wants to be Longhorn... I have a Longhorn boot screen, login, wallpaper, and sysmetrix all thanks to wincustomize.com .
10) My computer is cursed. Out of some 25+ games of solitare I haven't been able to win one yet. It's not that I'm bad (in fact I used to think I was good...), it's a curse I tell you!
Here's a picture...

As you can see, it is quite tricked out. Heres some specs:
P4 3.0C
Asus IC7-G Motherboard
Sapphire 9800XT
1 GB Corsair XMS 3200 Ram
120 Maxtor HD (7200 RPM)
Liteon DVD/CD Burner Combo
Antec Performance Plusview LE
Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
That all came with a whole bunch of games and programs: All the Half Life games and mods (which I can't play because you have to be only for STEAM to work...), Half Life 2 (upon release), Halo, Jedi Academy, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Two (yes count them two) copies of Tomb Raider:Angel of Darkness *cough*EBay*cough*, and two copies of PowerDVD. I haven't even gotten around to installing Jedi Academy or RS3 yet since I've been so busy with Halo and Splinter Cell. I also went out and bought Call of Duty and KOTOR. All of these games are quite good (Angel of Darkness being the exception), if you need a good game look into them. If you're looking to buy a computer I strongly suggest going to Newegg.com as they have really good prices.
Anyways, glad to be back!
