Questions

I have a few questions after playing with Beta2 for a little bit:

1) When you put a ship on autopilot, is there anyway to go back later and figure out what the ship's destination is? If not, it would be good to draw a line from a ship to its destination when you click on it.

2) If you set a colony's social or military project to Nothing, does the production get diverted to the other categories?

3) Is there any way to tell how fast a colony's population is growing? It would be useful to be able to see how many colonists were added in the last year. I've found myself pretty much depopulating my planets by building too many colony ships, and data on population growth would help me to plan this better.

4) How is production related to population? When I send half a colony's population off in a colony ship, I haven't noticed any effect on project contruction time.

5) Does the cost of purchasing a ship or project change as more progress is made towards its construction? I haven't seen much difference between the cost of building a ship whether the time remaining is 20 months or one.

6) I've found one bug with the planet list in the right side of the UI. When I click on a planet, I see the planet screen with the list of social projects I can build. This list should change from planet to planet depending on what projects have already been built. As near as I can tell, the list is built based on the first planet on which I click, and then doesn't get updated when I click on others.

Thanks,

--- Dave

Hi, gonna try to answer some altho I'm not a SD employee..

First, the one you have tried is Beta 1Y, 2 is not out yet. :)

1) is on the todo as stated before.

2) AFAIK the resources are not redistributed at this moment, but I hope it's on the todo.

3) Population growth are (or will be) affected by for example morale, so it's not possible to predict. Atho there could be some stats on the last year/decade or something.

5) Hmm two ways to go there....is it cheaper to buy a new car when your home-made one is amlost finished? :) Altho if you hire somebody to finish yer work, it should be cheaper than if he had to do it from start

Greets :)

Hi Fredrik,

Thanks for your response. With regards to #3, I simply want stats on how much growth there was last year. Assuming everything stays the same, at least this would give me some idea of how that would exptrapolate into the future. A simple notation like in MOO where population and growth is listed as 1434(+98) would suffice.

Where is this todo list you mentioned? I try to keep up with all the posts in the forum so I don't repeat bugs and suggestion that have already been made, but this hard sometimes. I wonder if the SD folks might consider adding a running list of known bugs and suggestions to the site (someplace other than the forum), so it could be easily refered to.

Thanks,

Looks like the bug I mentioned in point #6 was already reported in the thread "Selecting planets or ships from their respective lists is not working right."
