Eyes of the Universe-Fog of War bug

I just finished building the Eyes of the universe and the 'out of sensor range' fog of war stopped updating properly.

Newly launched ships/newly founded colonies still update the sensor ranges (without the benefit of EotU in the case of colonies, not sure if that's intentional).

Ships that are already in space don't update the 'sensor' FoW when they move anymore. The 'unexplored' FoW does still update, however.

I haven't reloaded the game yet to see if it's a temporary issue related purely to the building of EotU, or if it's a persistant problem in the code somewhere.

The FOW has been somewhat leaky from day one. I assume it is on their list to look into but since they are working so hard to keep up with our testing it may take a while to get to its position on the priority list.

Well, just to have more information for them to poke at, I have found that it starts updating properly again after saving and reloading the game, but ships that were lost under the FoW don't reappear again until they move back out into another sensor-source's range.

Interesting. I have not seen a save/reload correct the FOW and I have been watching it closely. Could htis very with galaxy size? I have been working mostly with gigantic galaxies.

Cheers,

It should be fixed in the next build. I had to figure out how to use our existing FOW code to deal with all the ships suddenly having larger ranges after the Eyes of the Universe is built. It's been working well this week.

I usually play in gigantic galaxies, and only the EotU FoW bug is fixed by reloading. The other FoW oddities (wormhole anomolies, purchasing ships and colonies from other civs, etc.) continue to propigate after a restart.
