GameTap Priced

Two Week Trial Offered

Turner Broadcasting System has announced the price for its upcoming content delivery system GameTap. GameTap is to debut in North America at $14.95 a month with a 2-week trial, a price that is on par with current competitors. The service is to allow users with broadband machines to play downloaded content from the early arcades to console and PC collections.

"GameTap is such a new concept that we wanted to unlock the 'vault' as a kind of virtual open house," said Dennis Quinn, executive vice president of business development, TBS. "While two weeks [free trial] is not nearly enough time to explore the full depths of GameTap, it's a great opportunity for an introductory self-tour."

It's an interesting concept.  If TotalGaming.net is the iTunes of games, then GameTap is the Napster of it.

If Totalgaming.net is the itunes of games then either itunes has fallen on hard times or you just added three quarters of a million 99c games while I wasn't looking.
