Help weird Buffer Overrun error

I could really use some help. About a week ago I suddenly started getting a pop up window with a title of "Microsoft Visual C+++ and the mssg is/was that DesktopX had a buffer overrun error and is shutting down. The only thing new I'd installed at that time was the Demo of Myst 5. Anyway restoring to a day before and the error vanished, till now of course. I was installing a new Creative Fata!ity FPS sound card so went thru cleaning out all the old A2 drivers and software, rebooted and the darn error is back. I could prolly fix using an old sysrestore again but if I do am worried it will screw up all the new stuff which is working wonderfully. I tried to ask in SDC's #Stardock chat but no one there even wants to respond at all hehe.

Any help would really be appreciated, I did try uninstalling/reinstalling DX but that didnt fix it for me

I don't know whether this is gonna work, but try to create a DEP exclusion from System Properties / Advanced / Performance.

nope, Finally tried it this AM. Enabled for all then excluded both versions of DX. SAtill got buffer overrun error plus for some reason after switching to the protect all mode it introduced a static noise when I moved my mouse. Reset it to just protect windows and static gone. Sure wish I could figure out whats wrong/fix it.

I just started getting this C++ Buffer Overrun with DesktopX Builder (even though I am only running the standard mode. This is very annoying. I need to re-up my subscription to update DX. I'm scared that this will not be fixed with an update.

Any ideas? WinXP Pro SP2. DX v3.19[b]
