Studio Closure Unrelated to AC2

The folks over at Turbine Entertainment have more bad news to announce today. Its seems that, unrelated to the Asheron's Call 2 closure, Turbine will be closing its West Coast studio. The Santa Monica studio was headed by Jason Bell since its creation in 2004, and was created to help relations in Asia as well as garnering closer links to the various businesses in the LA area. The studio will be closed in late December 2005, mirroring the closure of Asheron's Call 2, but the firm had no links to that now doomed game.
Gamespot reports that all workers have been offered packages to join the Turbine HQ in Westwood, MA, which is were their work has been transferred. Bell on the other hand left the company "several months ago." Turbine is currently working on two new MMORPGs including Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach and The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar.
