‘CRAZY’

i walk the streets in search of class,

knowing that leadership
mars not subordinates
but see truths
searching for something
that was yesterday tangible,

the position of ‘men’ on pedestals

i lamented from the decoration of
carcasses that pave the cities’ streets
calling for justice and peace

the good gods of the distance
pass
shivers to see the sources
of nation building
perish not by the hand of
‘backra’ but by ‘same-man’

my land
is now a nation torn
by love and cruelty,

even the joy of being
died when the leaders
cease to rise beyond
selfishness,

is this the land
for which Jeremiah wept?

today, I fear fear more than death,
for it’s a crazy place - here!

I hope this land (our land) will somehow be peaceful and loving again and not continually torn by the mishaps of selfish men.

Alas this is the cry everywhere now isn't it?!
