Galciv no longer visible in DGM?

As of this evening Galciv is no longer a choice to either play or update in DGM. Show betas is checked and B.U.G.S. shows up just fine but Galciv is gone.

I can still play the game if I run the executable directly but DGM disavows it's existence.

No joy. I tried a complete uninstall, delete everything left behind, then reinstall. Still no Galciv.

Wednesday, 6:30 pm. Same problem here: I cannot update to the just announced Beta 1Z because, as Citizen Magus has observed, GalCiv does not appear anymore on Drengin. How then are we supposed to test 1Z?

Well crap that is obnoxious. I'm sure they'll have it fixed by tomorrow.

Have you updated DGM as in the thread: http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?id=5606 ?

Download and replace the drengin.exe file as in T-man's post in the end. Does that improve the situation for you?

It's disappeared for me as well.

Tried to replace the drengin.exe file, still don't see the update. I think it may be a problem on their servers. I was trying to redownload the whole game before the 1Z came out and I kept getting script errors for GalCiv and Stellar Frontier.

Using this DGM update, the same symptoms appear here.

What seems to be the cause: After looking in the %DGM%\data\gc1 directory, the gc1_Multimedia.xml file is exactly 11 bytes, which is too low for a properly formatted blank XML page, much less one with actual data.

works on both my machines as well.

Make that two more machines with the DGM udate installed, but no GC showing. (:(

I see both GC and MM update but no 1Z available.
I suppose Brad removed it to fix.

A lot of SDS0004 while downloading MM. UPRace005.bi_ is not found in the server :(
Can anyone (Pat?) why we get all those SDS0004?

Has anybody found out why GC is not seen anymore ?

I do not think it has anything to do with the DGM update
and please give us a break we have been playing GC so we should know show Beta has to be clicked.

lost access to the GalCiv beta when i patched to the latest build of DGM which is being worked on to sort out the SDS0004 bug - isn't computer programming fun T-man?

Just tried a fresh install of DGM version .66b on a brand new machine and still no Galciv. Everything else, including B.U.G.S. shows up just fine.

It crossed my mind that it might have been OS related as my primary machine is running Windows 2000 but the new machine is running XP and I get the same behavior.

At this point it pretty much has to be something on the Stardock server end of things.
Sigh

AHHHH! Ok, looking into the problem.

Ok, It should be available again.

If for some reason if its not showing for you then delete the Drengin folder that is in your system temp directory and try again.

Success. For those with inquiring minds...can you tell us what the problem was?
Thanks

File not found c:\program files\dregin.net\data\gc1\gcmodule.gif

then a windows (yellow triange!) crash and DGM crashed out at least safely to desktop.

should i do another fresh install?

Now I'm getting an "Error: SDS0004 - Could not retreive . . ." message when I try to update. :notsure:

I'm not sure what causes that. It's extremely frustrating. :VOMIT:

Yes its been frusting for me as well. But I think I just took a step closer at getting it fixed.

Magus - The server code decided all by itself to convert a database value from "True" and "False" to 0 and -1. When Brad updated GalCiv that caused it to be hidden.
