The battle for Stargate rages on, a Vienna judge dismissed developer Perception's petition to have JoWood declared bankrupt. JoWood, who is currently in the middle of a "financial restructuring," made headlines last month when it pulled Stargate SG1: The Alliance away from developer Perception. The action by JoWood led to Perception filing the aforementioned lawsuit which was shot down since "Perception itself has admitted that the delay of the game delivery was also caused by the failure of Perception although JoWooD has already paid the undisputable amount of EUR 5.5 Mio," which is more than $6.75 million.
According to Gamespot the battle will rage on, as both companies claim ownership to Stargate SG-1: The Alliance. JoWood has already claimed the source code and assets from its investment but Perception claims they are the "official licensee of MGM on Stargate," and have continued to work on the game. Stargate SG-1: The Alliance was scheduled to ship for PC, Xbox and PS2 this fall, but if the game ships at all it most certainly won't be by then.
