Complaint: Pricing of ship engine types

As you get newer and newer engines via new technologies, the old ones become totally useless. Nothing about the older engines is better: size, price or speed. If this is how it was intended, why not just remove the old engines from the list as soon as the new ones are available?

I would prefer to see the old engines have SOME advantage. Maybe significantly lower COST compared to newer engine types?

I agree but perhaps make old componets obslete in desgin mode so it clears up space and so its users decision if they no longer want that engine cos it sucks badly But still cheaper engines are better in terms of cost and more expensive Newer engines may be harder to use

You know i always wondered... you could make a colony super ship with Weapons... noting that you would need a larger cargo hold.. but still...hey is there a way to reasarch larger cargo hold hulls?

You can research larger Captial Ship hulls, but I haven't played a game far enough to see if you can ever get larger cargo hulls. Maybe the large capital ship hulls end up filling that role later in the game?

I would say lower the price. But we still dont know how the game will be in the end. Thus far everythign in the game is god awfully slow. Even with decent engines putting 3 of em in removes a lot of firepower from your ship :/ I would think eventually they might tweak that a bit :/
