Turn button freezes game.

I couldn't find the thread on the turn button going awol (or MIA) so I decided to start a new thread.

This is with the Beta 3a build (ver 0.31). After I pressed the turn button ships on auto pilot moved, then the game just seemed to stop. The planet list was up at the time and nothing in it changed. Ships that had moved had 0 moves left. The turn button was gone and did not re-appear. I tried lots of the tricks we had used on Beta 1 and 2 when this happened on those builds but nothing seemed to work. So I saved the game, shut down GC2, restarted and reloaded. That is when I discovered that there were three ships on manual with moves left.

I thought there was an option to "skip moves left at end of turn", but I can't find it. I would have it turned off if it were there. I thought there was a similar option in GC1 and the previous betas for GC2.

In any case, the appearance is that ships on manual with moves left caused "end of turn" to lock up the game.

Hey Jack,

I submitted a related comment about the Find button. Build 0.31 (and those before it) doesn't have a clear visual indication of whether or not there are ships with movement points remaining. I remember one of the old Sid Meier games (can't remember if it was a Civ game or Alpha Centauri) would have something flash on the bottom of the screen when all your ships with movement points have moved. Also, after all the units with movement have either moved or skipped that turn (if you told the unit to Skip turn) the units with a destination set (ie. autopilot) would take their moves. In Beta 3 v0.31, I can't seem to figure out when the autopilot moves are being made - at the start or end of each turn?

It would be great if the dev team could clean up these small issues, because I think it would make the flow of each turn a lot more intuitive.

I can actually see them moving at the end of the turn, when I press the 'turn" button, and before any of the "next turn" prep work is done (research finished, social/ship projects finished, etc., time left updates, treasury updates, etc.).

As long as there is a way to prevent end of turn processing when there are ships with moves left and on manual control I would be satisfied.

These bugs will be worked out by Stardock (they have done a very good job of doing so with past projects). When they do, I think it will work very smoothly and intuitively.
