Drengin Empire logo and ships more reddish

I too have troubles destinguishing the Drengin's ships from the Arcean's. It is fortunate that we now have the "are you sure" popups or the results would be disastorous. It would be nice if there was a better color destinction between the races' ships.

I first want to say that this game is really fun and addictive. I especially like the level of post-release support it has gotten in terms of both updates and forum activity.

Anyway, I know this thread is very old but it is related to a request that I have.
It seems in earlier builds that the Drengins ships looked like the Arceans in color. Well, I was going to say that now the Drengins ship color is very close to the Torians. Sure the Torians are a brighter green and the ship design is a bit different but still it is very easy to confuse the two, especially in those quick flashes between turns when the ships are moving or attacking. Since the two races are of opposing alignments on the default setting it would usually be important to distinguish between them as one would most likely be a friend and the other most likely a foe.

I find it odd that the Drengins are the only race that has a different color scheme (green) for its ships than the rest of its associated symbols (red). Was this intentional? Am I just missing something, like the red on the ships is simply overshadowed by the green? Does it have to do with the background story? Are my graphic files distorted in some way? Was red already voted down by the beta-testers? If so I understand, no problem.

If it wasn’t intentional and it wouldn’t be a major undertaking, I think it would be more consistent with the other races and easier to distinguish if the Drengins had a color scheme that was based on red instead of green.

I think the colour settings on individual monitors and in individual eyes causes most of these problems. For me, every major race looks perfectly distinct. The Drengin are a dark, burgundish red, the Arceans a slightly golden yellow, etc. The only confusion comes when the minor races show up... they could use some different colours.

How about if we could choose colors for each empire (including ours)? At the start screen, there could be an additional box for each AI, and we select one out of, oh, 12-20 colors. And a slider allowing us to change the tint, too.

You know, if we get everything we're asking for by way of game setup options, I'm going to be terrified to look at the darn screen... it's going to be so full of options tabs and checkboxes and toggles and sliders...
