The Game Manager

I joined this beta for two reasons. The first was to play a game that I had originally played years ago and thoroughly enjoyed, the being the OS/2 version of galciv. The second was to help make it a better game. This beta has been a very frustarting experience not because of the the galciv beta itself but becase of DGM. Galciv has been a joy to play (when I can download it). Everyone has done a wonderful job updating it and the info from the other beta testing has helped very much.

That being said, DGM to me is a disaster. I mean i'm forever downloading new versions deleting old directories and watching SDS004 errors. I'm not a programmer, but there has to be an easier way. This is really starting to turn me off the Drengin thing. The idea is great. There just needs to someting that can be done to make simply downloading the game a better experience (i.e. not even really noticed). Please help us. I sense that many people are in the boat that I'm in. For the next beat lets try to get the manager working consistantly.

Thanx,

Chuck.

I can honestly say that all of us here are as frustrated as you beta testers concerning the DGM. Most of us here were working on getting this last build out for over a week, staying late and letting it interfere with our night lives. And then the DGM fails us. It is not simply a case of us setting a "no bugs" flag in the source code. The DGM itself is a beta version. We are working on the problem and we will get a new DGM out as quickly as possible. Please try to be patient.
