Skinning Problem

I am using the latest version of Windowblinds and I am having a problem with skinning. When I apply a skin, it gets applied to internet explorer, and explorer and the taskbar, but it does not skin the logoff screen and the shutdown/restart screen. I was having this problem all day and I ended up doing a system restore back to before I even installed Windowblinds and then reinstalled. I also cannot set custom animations, even if I set it in my WindowBlinds main option for "My Animations" and the "Always use animations selected below", nor can I set "My Toolbars" using "Always use the toolbar icon set selected below", so I am having three seperate problems that I was hoping a fresh install would have taken care of but hasn't. I know that there are skins for the Logoff screen and the Shutdown/Restart screen because if I open SkinStudio and look at the .wba file it shows skins for those items. The other two make absolutely no sense either because I am specifying the "Animations" and "Toolbars" that I want to use, but they are not being applied. Any suggestions short of Uninstall and reinstall, because I have already done that.

As Bichur pointed out, the free/demo version of the program does not skin parts of the GUI. You'll need to get the registered version of WB to fully skined the GUI.

did you have the free version first? if so, did you uninstall it prior to installing paid? have you registered the paid through SDC?

I had the free version a long time ago but not since the reformat of my drive and reinstallation of the Operating System Windows XP SP2 so no that isn't an issue. I installed it using Stardock Central with my Serial number applied.

Do you have any archived paid versions that work?
if so, what about uninstalling, restoring achive that works then just udating with SDC?

I think somewhere on a DVD backup I may have the original version that I backed up, I'll have to go through my backup DVD's and check and try that, but I am really annoyed that this is a new install and it doesn't work, just downloaded it from Stardock Central, but I'll try and see if that does it and I'll let you know. Thanks.

Well, the only backup that I found happened to be the same as what was installed and no luck, the Shutdown/Restart dialog still is not skinned and like I said there is info in the .wba file for skinning that component but will not apply it. Is this the only place to recieve help. I placed the same post in Stardock support forum but have not recieved a reply.

Have you tried checking the WindowBlinds Configuration and make sure the correct attributes are checked?

uh oh...Ocham's (sp?) Razor?

If configurations are correct as Apoc mentioned above, then it kinda sounds like it's the free version running.
What's the version of the latest you have?
per SDC, I show 4.60.048 dtd 8/8/2005
per the about, I show 4.6 (build 214)

Problem solved, it was a fresh installation on a fresh computer and somehow the user overrides buttons were checked and being held at always skin as default or something like that, when I unchecked them and applied the skin everything changed just like I wanted it to. Thanks for all the suggestions and tips.
