DGM test build 0.66.088

I have a new build of the DGM where its only checking the file date and ignoring the file time. It also fixes a minor bug in the resume code. Anyone what to give this a test and let me know how it works.

Trying it out now. So far it is working great on my office maching. No error messages or anything.

about 10 minutes in updating (I think I have the last alpha....) and so far no stopages, bug errors, etc.

If it works out ok, I will try it at home also. If not I will email you the debug.err file.

Thanks

Worked great. I got the latest beta, started it (6 minutes of blank screen fo rthe intro, so I was a little worried) but then the setup screen appeared. Thanks.

6 minutes of blank screen? I have seen this too (maybe not 6 minutes, but a very long time in any case), and not just on 1Z. I have seen it the first time I start a game on a new build for many builds now. But why is it that it happens only on the FIRST start after an upgrade?

Cheers,
Jack

I've experienced quite a few empty "black screens" (without mouse cursor)immediately after launching GalCiv on all builds (except, so far, with 1Z)...but I did not wait for 6 minutes to see if it would go away. Uninstalling the game and reinstalling always worked...for a while, empty black screens eventually re-emerging. Admiral CariElf has been made aware of this: she speculated that it might be a problem with the intro.bik file. She suggested that I experiemented with removing that file, but since then (a week ago), no black screen has occured.

Could this be why I have yet to see any cut scenes?

cut scenes? Cut scenes? what cut scenes??

I have been awaiting cut scenes for the game since before the first Alpha. During one of the Alpha builds a game completion cut scene showed up, but Brad didn't know it. It had a view like that of a front view screen as a ship navigated through the remains of a space battle towards a planet. It was cool.

Also, at one time Brad posted a cut scene of a little girl holding a teddy bear, then looking up to see masses of ships in orbit, then an approaching Drengin. The scene was very well done, very clear with high resolution. This one may still be in the encyclopedia.

Cheers,
Jack

Well, I can not find it. All I can find is a picture of the girl holding the teddy bear in the overview. The clip was well worth seeing. Perhaps you could persuade Brad to post a link to it on this forum.

Cheers,
Jack

Thought I'd give it a try...and got the infamous Fatal Exception: 13 Type mismatch 0 error. Cleaned out the drengin temp folders, same thing. 0.66.74 works fine.

Below is the debug.err while running drengin.exe /d

Thanks,

Mark

seems to work ok on my machine - not updating DGM graphics icons or anything and indicating there is no update for me - which is right.

I've moved to .88 as Pat asked.
Works fine but I nothing to download to make a better check.

After I install the DGM and connect, I am getting this error on both dgm_66c and the update drengin_066_088

Fatal Error: 53 File not found: 'G:\Drengin Net Game Manager\data\lwn\sm_lwn_icon.gif'O

The error is correct so far as that file is not at that location.

Can I just get that file somewhere and add it to that directory, or is there more involved.

Thanks, Bob.

new version worked well here. No error messages.

New Version worked well but I am a bit angry about the E-Mail Support!

I have send in a Bug Message at Friday last Week because the Error 13 I get with .66c but I still only get the automatic generated message that they get the E-Mail. This is a bit weak for a already known bug.

Warpedchaos and RJL,

I sent you both an email requesting additional information.
