LOL, yeah, she knows my propensity for TBS games. She like solitare and hearts, had to teach her freecell. gonna start her on a simple resource game, then hook her with more indepth games. She don't mind me spending hours on the computer playing games, because I make her go.........."WAHOO!!!" and OMFG!!!! (EVIL GRIN)

No, I couldn't find it locally. It was sold out. The empty slot was next to the 15 unsold copies of MoO3 for <$20...... besides, I could have got it elsewhere (cheaper even), but pryed open the wallet for a bit more so SD can afford more games like this. Now if they would just implement some of my other ideas with it.... ;)

edit in: the simple TBS resource game is called "moonbase commander". It also has a demo.

This was the (explative) time THAT (explative)happened, but the first five (explative)times the down(explative)load manager picked up where it (explative)left off. This (explative)time it didn't! 16 (explative)str8 hours of downloanding lost to the (explative) worm ridden phone lines and the occasional (explative) Dl manager qlitch of not (explative) picking up where it (explative) left off.

Maybe you should download it at a friend's place with cable or broadband and burn it to CD.

Really it should take just about 6-8 hours on dialup rather than 2 full days. Is your modem up to speed?

I wish i had the option of going to a friends place, but alas the problem is not in my associations, but the local companies. DSL is not avail in this area because they are still using lines installed during the telegraph period. Such a price one must pay for being able to have deer walking around in your yard during the early morning fog. (Kentucky hill country). Downtown is a fork in the road next to a RR crossing. Which also explains why the game can not be found locally. Closest "Best Buy" is 100 miles away.

Losing the DL is not really that big a deal. I did order the game with the CD. i was just really tired after monitoring the Dl for 16 hrs. yeah, my modem is up to par, matter of fact this is a farily new rig (AMD XP 1700 processor, with all the current goodies at the time it was built). After my initial ranting at the Baboon run phone company, et al. I was indeed glad I chose the extra Lincoln for the CD. It's just after a half dozen or so demo games, I really want to get my fangs into a full version game. I said it would be a close race between DLing and snail mail.

The loiter box over the dial-up icon states I am connected at 49.2 kbps. Yeah, right. Thats why it took 7.5 hours to DL the demo. LOL

No, there won't be any little wombats arriving. Wayyy too old for that scat.

and no cable access either. the cable lines here for a good part are slung from tree branch to tree brance, and alone the ground. fence posts and the occasional lazy cow are not spared either.
