A post on the Cyberlore forums - developers of Playboy: The Mansion and Risk - has leaked information about a drastic change in the company. Jay Adan bypassed the press release to announce to the world that Cyberlore Studios had forced a bunch of people to leave the company including himself. The Massachusetts based company announced yesterday that the layoffs are due to a dramatic shift in company strategy, the shift in focus of interactive media to that of training software.
Although Cyberlore's game profile is largely owned by other companies, they do own the rights to Majesty which Adan assumes will be sent to a new home. Adan further explained that the ultimate demise of Cyberlore as a developer came from the bankruptcy of former publisher Hip Interactive. Before signing off Adan did put in some kind words for his former employer, "Cyberlore remains the best place that I've ever worked and I wish the situation had been different."
