Ubisoft announced the official title to the next installment of the Prince of Persia series including some new information on gameplay. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones will be released across a variety of platforms this December, with the latest installment in the series grabbing the best elements from its predecessors, Sands of Time and Warrior Within. Ubisoft has stated that the previous elements will be mixed in with new gameplay elements including another playable character, a "Speed Kill" system and chariot combat added.
"Prince of Persia The Two Thrones will allow players to explore the two different sides of the Prince's divided soul," said Yannis Mallat, executive producer for Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. "The Prince will battle with his inner demons and explore his alter ego. He'll struggle with the boundaries between good and evil in his quest to regain his rightful place as ruler of Babylon."
The Two Thrones will begin the tale of the Prince as he returns home to Babylon with Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time, only to see that that his kingdom has been ravaged by war. The Prince will be marked as a fugitive by a powerful enemy after witnessing Kaileena's death at his enemy's hands. Kaileena's death is just the beginning, as it unleashes the sands which now taint the Prince.
