Cannot click on/select anything from Object Desktop/DesktopX menus or Widgets!

The programs load ok & show up on the desktop, but I can't click on them

I know this probably sounds like a weird error (though I'm hoping a very fixable one), but whenever I start/run Object Desktop or DesktopX, or whenever I load any widgets onto my desktop, the menus/widgets load up fine, but I can't select anything from the menus or move the widgets around on my desktop...it's like they're not even there! Whenever I try to right-click on them I only get the pop-up menu for my desktop (almost as if the programs didn't exist, as far as Windows is concerned) however they still show up in the Task Manager, and if I close them out from there, they shut down fine. I'm not sure if there's some setting I need to switch (for example, if everything is "locked down") or if it's a display driver issue or what, but its very inconvenient. Any help would be appreciated, thx!!

Press the control key while trying to move objects. Some objects are tricky to get the properties menu to pop up on right click. Try the clicking on the corners.

Unfortunately that didn't work...it seems to be a much larger problem than just not being able to move objects...I can't even select them! And it appears to not only be those start up menus and widgets, but whenever I load any dxthemes, I can't select ANYTHING...no objects, no buttons, nothing. Any ideas??
