Tech trading is unbalanced

Once you collect enough techs through the anomolies, you can easily trade those techs for as many planets, ships and cash as an enemy owns. :not sure:

At the Challenging level, I bought off my five opponents in one turn. LOL

Also, the Controlled Gravity tech has an ability value of "string not found +10". So does the gravity tech above controlled.

There is a limit to how much you can get with techs, but you tend to be able to research faster than the AI can colonize/build, so until real late in the game, when there isn't much left to research, you can get that effect.

This is a known problem. The Range ability string wasn't added to the game when the range increasing techs were, so GC doesn't know what to display.

Mike and Arturus,

Brad suggested changing the ability = "Range" to ability = "RAnge". This elimitates the string not found message but does not provide the increased range. They have to fix that.

Hey Jack, did you change your nickname and got the stars back? ;)
What did happen? Did you win the lottery? LOL

Gherardo,

I talked to Pat Ford. He also said that someday we will be able to modify parts of our accounts, but my guess is that it will be quite a while in the future.

It is better to trade techs AND all ships, just to slow down him from the beginning. You can get quite a few planets and all ships just from Organic something (just cannot remember ;) ), significantly slowing AI down at very begining.

The AI players also don't seem to value their survey ships very highly. I just bought all the other race's survey ships for a few techs. One gave it to me for just NanoElectronics.
