Here it is more proof that the left is doing everything it can to denounce all religion.

Fema the federal emergency management agency ASKED houses of God to take in ,cloth, feed and house hurricane victims.

Churches, synagogues did and I imagine Muslim mosques did too.

These houses of God followed femas' request and spend huge amounts of money doing so.

Now fema and the Bush administration wants to reimburse them for the money spent.

Now enters the different civil liberty unions {you know the ones civil liberties for everyone but God and conservatives}
saying that paying the money back to these religious organizations would be a violation of church and state.

Please, can anyone tell me what these anti-American anti-religion jerks are doing?

Is not there something else they can spend there time on besides trying to remove any mention of God from America?
Are they trying to drive religion out of America completely?

How can some people be so heartless? I have not heard about any civil liberties groups banding together to donate money or time to the victims.

Why do they hate America and God so much?

Can these people be a tool of Satan?

It's ok to reimburse the red cross, but no houses of worship.

The hypocritical part of this is, the ACLU had no problem with the government asking religious groups to help out, they only draw the line when their god (money) becomes involved. Do they even know that The Salvation Army is a religion?

Until I see ACLU idiots volunteering to actually help with relief efforts they can ooze back into the cesspool that bred them.

A couple of questions from a Non-American:

- are the donations to the religious organizations tax deductible?
- assuming the intent is to reduce the burden on these groups of taking funds not already intended for aid, why not temporarily create a 100% reimbursable tax credit for emergency relief instead?
- the 2nd link shows the Red Cross is jumping through hoops to demonstrate its independence from the government, any reason why this shouldn't apply to these organizations?

Here's all the reason you need why this wouldn't work. In the US, churches/ religious organizations don't pay taxes.

the religious orgs. are not getting donations per say, they are using church {other houses of God} to help the hurricane victims at the request of a federal agency, the churches have NOT asked to be reimbursed, the government volenteered to repay them for the expenses.

exactly doc, but the monies they spent on relief was supposed to be used for their own parishioners.
